Behind the Secret Identity

“kenryoku” is the name I’ve been using online since 2010. In Japanese, it means either “power, authority or influence” and is written this way:

権力

where the first kanji represents authority and the second one, power. I chose it because I wanted my nom de plume to be  both a metaphor and an inspiration for myself.

In real life, I go by the more unassuming name “Nerissa”. I love music (particularly jrock), bacon, pandas, writing instruments and dark chocolate.

I write about everyday life, my travels, world cinema, music and pop culture. Unless otherwise indicated, all photos appearing in this blog are taken by me.

I’m also a big fan of hugs.
